Job Summary :
We are seeking a talented and experienced Test Automation Engineer with deep expertise in SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud) network operating system (NOS), Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, and network test frameworks including PTF and SPyTest.
In this role, you will be a key contributor to the design, implementation, and execution of comprehensive test plans and automation for modern network operating systems, helping drive the validation of data center and enterprise network infrastructures built for AI/ML applications.
The candidate will collaborate closely with software engineers, hardware engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure features are well tested, integrated, and deployed seamlessly.
Key Skills & Expertise :
- Strong expertise in SONiC Network Operating System
- Hands-on experience in network test automation and validation
- Proficient in Python for test automation development
- Deep expertise in designing and developing network validation scripts using PTF (Packet Test Framework) and SPyTest
- Familiarity with Linux internals
- Experience with Docker containers
- Understanding of network virtualization technologies
- Knowledge of network ASICs and switch hardware architecture
- Solid understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Job Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and maintain the automated test infrastructure and frameworks, including PTF and SPyTest, for the SONiC NOS platform
- Design, implement, and execute comprehensive test plans for L2/L3 networking protocols and features
- Ensure high quality and scale on SONiC platforms
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, hardware engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure features are well tested, integrated, and deployed seamlessly
- Contribute to design and test plan reviews to ensure test coverage
- Ensure high quality in software deliverables
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in network test automation and validation
- Strong experience with SONiC Network Operating System
- Proficient in Python for test automation development
- Deep expertise in designing and developing network validation scripts using:
- PTF (Packet Test Framework)
- SPyTest
- Familiarity with Linux internals
- Experience with Docker containers
- Familiarity with network virtualization technologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications :
- Knowledge of network ASICs and switch hardware architecture
